TIPS FOR REMOVING COMMON BACKPACK SMELLS
Does your backpack smell after a long commute or travel or you spill something in your backpack, Your backpack will need some extra love! To tackle smells like mildew, sweat or old food, Here are few pointer
- For a cleaning agent that’s friendly to the planet and your budget, try plain white vinegar diluted with water. Use a spray bottle to spray the vinegar solution on your dirty pack and then let it sit until it’s dry. Any lingering vinegar smell will go away after a gentle wipe down with a wet cloth and thereafter left to air dry.
- Don’t skip the straps: Straps on a backpack or gym bag can get dirty and discoloured, possibly transferring residue to your clothes or your skin. Prep them for washing by spraying them with vinegar solution, enzyme cleaner or another gentle disinfectant.
- Also, we recommend placing charcoal or camphor balls in the bag for a day or more (depending on the strength of the odour) and close the bag. The charcoal or camphor balls will absorb the smell.
For maintenance you can consider a monthly routine of a quick wipe-down or brushing. With proper care your bag can last a lifetime!
